Admissions Process

At The Beacon School, we believe choosing the right educational environment for your child is a meaningful and prayerful decision. Our admissions process is designed to help your family explore our school community, understand our approach, and determine if Beacon is the right fit for your child’s learning journey.

Step 1: Inquire

Start by filling out our Online Inquiry Form to let us know you’re interested. This helps us learn more about your family and allows us to provide personalized information about our school.

Step 2: Schedule a Tour

After submitting your inquiry, a member of our admissions team will contact you to schedule a campus tour. During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to meet our staff, observe classrooms, and ask questions about our curriculum and school culture.

Step 3: Apply

If you feel that the school is a good fit for your family, start your application. This step includes completing an application form, submitting academic records (if applicable), supplying two references, and paying a $172 application fee.

Step 4: Student Assessment & Family Interview

After we’ve received your application, we’ll invite your child in for an academic assessment. This helps us get to know your child and ensure our program is a good match for their needs, interests, and learning style. Our administrative team will meet with your family to further explore your goals, answer any final questions, and share more about what it means to be a part of the Beacon community.

Step 5: Enrollment Decision

Once you’ve completed this process, you’ll be notified of your admissions status. Accepted families will receive an enrollment packet and instructions to finalize their spot via email.

Preferred Timeline

The Beacon School admissions office utilizes a rolling admission process. However, we recommend submitting applications as early as 8 months in advance of your preferred year of enrollment.

  • Applications are accepted beginning December of the year preceding the year for which application is being made. Testing and interviews begin in February, based on availability.
  • Family interviews and student assessments are scheduled when all required application materials are received.
  • As openings become available, new family admission begins following the current Beacon School family re-enrollment process in early February. Letters notifying applicants of admission decisions are sent upon completion of the admission process. While the Beacon School continues to accept applications throughout the year, we recommend submitting all forms as early as possible.
  • If an applicant has applied to attend The Beacon School but there are no spaces available in his or her grade, the applicant’s name will be placed on a waitlist in the order the application was received. Wait pools are not prioritized lists. When and if an opening becomes available, the Admission Committee will convene and select the most appropriate candidate for the opening. Openings occur throughout the spring and summer, and new students are added to the grades where those openings occur.
  • The Beacon School gives priority to qualified siblings of current Beacon students.
  • A child must be 4 years told before September 1st to start Pre-K. All early childhood applicants must be fully potty trained and able to care for restroom needs independently.
