The Beacon School is a small innovative Christian Private School that believes in a whole-child educational experience. We’re designed to create a small family-like environment where students can learn from one another through group projects, seek support from adult guides, explore the world’s most challenging questions through Socratic-style discussions, work on individual goals and learn how to discover answers and truth for themselves. Our model is loosely based off of Montessori principles and Finnish school principles.

Yes! This is a wonderful program for families who are homeschooling (or plan to) but are looking to enhance the homeschool experience with project-based learning, core skill support with certified teachers and a positive social environment. Additionally, the blended model students attend one Friday each Voyage to go on a field trip with the school.

Our Full-Time students attend school four days a week (Monday-Thursday from 9:00-3:15). Additionally, all students attend one Friday each Voyage to go on a field trip with the school.

Beacon incorporates the use of several core curriculums. The Logic of English, The Good and The Beautiful, Singapore Math, Learning Without Tears and Abeka are all utilized within the school (depending on grade). Guides are actively engaged in the classroom during Core Skill time to teach, answer questions, offer guidance as needed, and assist the children with their essential learning. Guides also incorporate the use of hands-on learning activities to support the core skills the children are learning during Beacon Achievement time.

Voyages are six-week sessions around a central learning theme aimed at achieving specific goals through group and individual projects, followed by Beacon Exhibition Evenings for student demonstrations. Families are invited to attend Exhibition Evenings to help honor and celebrate the learning of the Beacon students.
