My three girls have been part of the Beacon Blended Model for four years now. Initially, we were unsure of what it truly meant to ‘Rethink Education,’ but after being a part of the Beacon community for some time, we have experienced firsthand how crucial these two words are and what they look like when put into action. Our journey has been transformative, and we now understand the deep value of this educational philosophy. Our goals for our girls were for them to move beyond basic rote memorization and standardized testing, experiences we had encountered in traditional public schools. We wanted something more, something that would not only help them excel academically but also nurture their creativity and intellectual curiosity. We sought a school that would foster creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence — qualities we believe are vital for success in today’s rapidly evolving world. We also wanted them to experience smaller class sizes, which would allow guides to focus on the diverse learning styles of their students, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met. This personalized attention creates an environment where every student can thrive. While also knowing that as a Blended Model family we would be partnering with our girls’ guides. ‘Rethinking Education’ goes beyond traditional academics by encouraging the development of lifelong skills such as problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration. It was important to us that our girls know how to work with others and what that looks like on a regular basis. ‘Rethinking Education’ has empowered our girls to become active, informed, and compassionate people, preparing them not only to succeed in their careers but also to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world. The Beacon Blended Model has truly transformed their educational experience, equipping them with the tools they need to face the challenges of tomorrow with confidence and purpose.
